Volunteer
Care Net Pregnancy Resources depends on volunteers
to continue its ministry to women in crisis and the opportunity
for volunteering is always available.
Volunteer client advocates meet with all of our clients
whether the first time client or those coming back for follow-up
sessions or parenting classes. Every client advocate completes 20-plus
hours of training and then commits 3 hours of time weekly to the
Center. A volunteer will continue to see the same client from first
visit through the end of the peer support sessions and not only
will be able to present the gospel to them but will also compassionately
minister to their needs. Volunteering as a client advocate is definitely
a rewarding and satisfying opportunity.
Many other volunteering opportunities are also available
at Care Net Pregnancy Resources. The Center needs to be cleaned
weekly, our office sends out several mailings a year, the baby closet
needs to be kept organized, and many other small but necessary tasks
accumulate on a regular basis. In addition, we use many volunteers
to help with our two main annual fundraising events, the banquet
and the walk for life.
We appreciate the volunteers who communicate the
Center’s needs to their respective churches and coordinate
their congregation’s help whether by organizing prayer warriors
or a baby bottle campaign.
Finally, our abstinence education program is always
in need of presenters. Every presentation uses a young (20 to early
30ish) man and woman. Although there are not a lot of presentations,
they often consume the major part of a school day. Our goal is to
have 4 or 5 of these volunteers so that if one’s schedule
will not allow for a requested presentation, another will be available.
Public speaking and a good rapport with young people is a requirement.
